Licentio

Your trial and subscription

Understand how the free trial works, add a payment method, and manage or cancel billing.

Licentio starts you on a 30-day free trial the moment your account is created, with no card required, and only charges once you've added a card and the trial has ended. Everything about billing lives under Settings → Subscription, and a banner across the top of the app shows your trial status while it's running.

Your trial

During the trial you have full access. The subscription page shows Trial in progress, how many days remain, the exact date your trial ends, and your Payment method (No card on file until you add one). The banner offers Manage billing, which brings you here.

To keep access after the trial, add a card before it ends. Mid-trial, that happens through Manage your subscription → Open Stripe portal, where you can also switch between monthly and annual billing. Your card is handled by Stripe: your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch Licentio's servers, and you aren't charged until the trial ends. Once a card is on file, the page also offers Start your subscription early with End trial & subscribe if you'd rather not wait.

If the trial ends without a card, the page switches to Your trial has ended with a plan picker and card form; choose a plan and select Start subscription to pick up where you left off.

If an organization covers your seat

If you belong to an organization that's on a trial or a paid plan, the organization provides your access. The subscription page says Your seat is covered by Organization, and you don't need a personal subscription or a card on file to keep logging. The trial banner and conversion prompts stand down while you're covered.

If you were already paying for your own plan when your organization started paying, Licentio ends yours so you're not billed twice: a monthly plan runs out its current period; an annual plan ends at the end of the current month and the remaining whole months are refunded to your original payment method. You get an email when this happens.

Coverage ends the day you leave the organization or are removed from it. From then on your own subscription's terms apply, so check this page before a placement ends. See Joining an organization.

Offer codes

Have a beta or promo code? Under Have an offer code?, select Apply to enter it. A valid code can extend your trial or unlock free access, and some codes mean no card is required at all.

Manage your subscription

Open Stripe portal takes you to Stripe's secure portal, where you can update your payment method, switch plans, view invoices, or cancel. (Accounts on a free or manually arranged plan, and lapsed trials, don't have a portal; the page shows the options that apply to you.)

Cancel

You can cancel your subscription right in your account — no phone call or email. Before you confirm, Licentio shows What happens to your data: auto-renewal turns off right away; when the period ends, paid features lock but your supervised-hours data, supervisor connections, pathway, and licensure history stay in your account and visible to you; you can re-subscribe any time and pick up where you left off. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and until then a Restore subscription button lets you undo it.

Gotchas

If your trial ends with no payment method, the app goes read-only. Your data is preserved and nothing is deleted, but you can't log new hours until you add billing. If you're mid-placement, add a payment method before your trial ends so logging never pauses.
  • Annual bills once a year; monthly is more flexible. Pick deliberately. You can switch plans later from the Stripe portal, but choosing the right one up front avoids a proration surprise.
  • Cancel means end-of-period, not instant. You keep access through the period you've paid for, and you can restore the subscription any time before it ends.

FAQ

When am I charged? Not until your trial ends, and only if you've added a card. The subscription page shows the exact trial-end date.

How do I add or change my payment method? During the trial, select Open Stripe portal from the subscription page (the banner's Manage billing brings you there). After a lapse, the page's card form does it. To change a card later, open the Stripe portal.

How do I cancel? Select Cancel subscription on the subscription page. It takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.

What happens to my hours if I cancel or my trial lapses? Nothing is deleted. Your data is preserved; the app becomes read-only for new logging until you're subscribed again.

My organization pays for me. What do I do here? Nothing, while your seat is covered. The details on this page describe only your own account's billing, which is idle. If you leave the organization, come back here to start or resume your own plan.

Do I need a credit card to try Licentio? No. The 30-day trial starts without one. Add a card before the trial ends to keep access; an offer code can extend the trial or unlock free access without a card.
