Your credential
Your supervisor credential is what authorizes you to approve hours in Licentio. Open Credentials to add and manage the licenses that let you supervise.
Add a credential
Select Add a credential and record the license — its type (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC), state, number, and issue and expiration dates. Licentio records credentials as self-attested: you're stating this is accurate, and you can edit or remove a credential later from its row.
Each credential shows its status and expiration so you can see at a glance whether it's active.
Licensure is not supervisor eligibility
Licentio is direct about an important distinction, and so are we:
Keep it current
An active credential is what lets you approve. If your credential lapses, your ability to review and approve hours is affected until you renew it and update the record here. Licentio surfaces a reminder when a credential needs attention, but renewing with your board and recording the update is on you.
Gotchas
- Self-attested means accurate matters. Licentio takes your credential details as given. Wrong numbers or dates undermine the record your supervisees rely on.
- Eligibility is broader than a license. An active license is necessary but not sufficient. Confirm you meet the BBS supervisor training and CE requirements before you take on supervisees.
FAQ
Does Licentio check that I'm allowed to supervise? No. It records your credential as self-attested. Confirming you meet the BBS supervisor requirements is your responsibility.
What happens to my supervisees if my credential expires? Your ability to approve their hours is affected until you renew. Keep your credential current so their hours keep moving through review.
Can I have more than one credential? Yes. Add each license that authorizes you to supervise, and manage them from the Credentials page.
