Experience Verification
The Official BBS Experience Verification is the form you submit with your licensure application. Licentio fills the official California BBS form with your approved hours under a supervisor and sends it to that supervisor to sign electronically. Open Reports; it's the first card, under Submit to the board.
Before you send one
Three things decide what goes on the form:
- Approved hours. The Verification counts hours your supervisor has approved (or hours under a relationship set to No approval required). If nothing is approved yet, Licentio tells you so and asks you to get hours approved first.
- Your workplaces. The BBS asks for a separate Verification for each supervisor and workplace, and checks the employer name on the form against your W-2s. Record each employer exactly as it reads on your W-2 under Workplaces (in the sidebar under Account). Manage workplaces on the Reports page takes you there.
- Your legal name. The first time you send a Verification, Licentio asks you to Confirm your legal name (first, middle, last) exactly as it should appear on the official form, and uses it on every Verification after that. Legal name on the form shows what's on file, with Edit next to it.
Send a Verification
- On Reports, under Official BBS Experience Verification, choose the Supervisor.
- If your hours with that supervisor span more than one workplace, choose the Employment setting. Hours are scoped to the setting you pick.
- Optionally select Download draft (unsigned) to preview the filled form before you send it.
- Select Send for supervisor signature. Licentio emails your supervisor a secure link to review and sign.
The request appears under Your verifications as Awaiting signature, with Resend email and Cancel. When your supervisor signs, it changes to Signed and you can Download signed PDF. As the page says, your supervisor signs electronically, and the BBS accepts electronic signatures on this form.
Your supervisor doesn't need to sign in. The email link opens a short signing page where they confirm their legal name and attest under penalty of perjury. See Approving and signing from email.
Gotchas
- One Verification per supervisor and workplace. If you worked under the same supervisor at two sites, send two.
- Only approved hours make it onto the form. If the totals look low, check your supervisor's queue before you send. See Getting your hours signed off.
- The totals are creditable totals. BBS weekly limits apply across everything you logged that week, so the number printed can be lower than the raw hours in your log. Your Detailed Hours Log shows both figures.
- An active subscription is required. If your trial has lapsed, the card says Your verification needs an active subscription with a link to your subscription page.
FAQ
What's the difference between the Verification and the hours logs? The Verification is the official BBS form you submit. The Detailed Hours Log and Weekly Log are records you keep to back it up. See Hours logs.
Can I see the form before my supervisor does? Yes. Download draft (unsigned) produces the filled form without signatures.
My supervisor didn't get the email. Select Resend email on the request under Your verifications. If the wrong supervisor was chosen, Cancel it and send a new one.
Does sending a Verification end the supervisory relationship? No. It asks your supervisor to verify hours on the official form. Ending a relationship is a separate action on your Supervisors page.
